Dr Sheila Pryce Brooks
Sheila Pryce Brooks is a sociologist and researcher specialising in sleep paralysis, anomalous experience and consciousness. She completed her PhD at the University of York, where her research examined the lived experience and phenomenology of sleep paralysis, including its spiritual, paranormal and transformative dimensions. Her subsequent research has developed the concept of Threshold Contact Experience (TCE), a phenomenological framework for examining the broader experiential features associated with sleep paralysis. She is a member of the Society for Psychical Research’s Spontaneous Cases Committee and Chair of Project Sleep, which investigates sleep-related anomalous experiences.
