Dr Andreas Sommer is a historian of science and the occult. His doctoral thesis (University College London), which reconstructed the co-emergence of modern experimental psychology and psychical research in the late 1800s, won an award from the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology. He has published widely in peer-reviewed academic journals and edited volumes and held several research posts in the history of science at the University of Cambridge.
