Bernard Carr is Professor of Mathematics and Astronomy at Queen Mary University of London. His professional area of expertise is cosmology and astrophysics and includes such topics as the early universe, black holes, dark matter and the anthropic principle. He is also very interested in the role of consciousness in physics and is developing a new psycho-physical paradigm which links matter and mind. He has a long-standing interest in psychical research, which he sees as playing a vital role in that paradigm. He has been a member of the SPR since 1974, was President in 2000-2004 and is currently Chairman of the Education and Publicity Committee.
