Prof Erlendur Haraldsson
Erlendur Haraldsson (1931–2020) was a professor in psychology at the University of Iceland. He wrote eight books, five of which appeared in English: I Saw a Light and Came Here, Children´s Experiences of Reincarnation; Indridi Indridason the Icelandic Physical Medium; The Departed Among The Living; Modern Miracles. Sathya Sai Baba. The Story of a Modern Prophet; and At The Hour Of Death (Karlis Osis was primary author). He published over 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and many chapters in edited books. Erlendur studied philosophy and psychology at the universities of Edinburgh, Munich and Freiburg and obtained his PhD from Hans Bender at the University of Freiburg in 1972. He spent a year at the Institute for Parapsychology in Durham with JB Rhine, and another in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Virginia with Ian Stevenson. In 1974 he joined the Department of Psychology at the University of Iceland. He served as visiting professor at the University of Virginia and at the Institute for Borderline Areas of Psychology in Freiburg. He an active researcher throughout his career and lectured worldwide.
